Clip is a personal video-editing tool. This policy explains what data Clip handles, where it lives, and how you can control it. Clip does not run as a multi-user cloud service — it runs as your own application, processing your own video files.
Your videos, exported clips, thumbnails, and project data are stored locally on your own device's disk, not on a Clip-operated server. When a feature needs AI processing — such as transcription, highlight detection, captioning, or AI voiceover — the relevant portion of your content is sent to that feature's processing provider (OpenAI or AssemblyAI) solely to perform the requested processing, and is handled according to that provider's own privacy policy and data-retention practices.
When you connect a TikTok, YouTube, or Instagram account to publish clips directly, Clip stores the resulting OAuth access tokens locally on your device. These tokens are used only to publish content to the account you connected, at your direction. They are not transmitted to any server other than the respective platform's own API.
Clip may use cookies and basic analytics to understand how the app is used and to improve it. We do not sell or share this information with third parties for advertising purposes.
You are in full control of your data at all times. You can delete any project or clip at any time, which removes the associated files from disk. Disconnecting a social account removes its stored access token immediately.
Depending on which features you use, portions of your content may be sent to the following third parties for processing or publishing. Each operates under its own privacy policy:
California residents (CCPA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion of that information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Since Clip stores your content locally on your own device, you can exercise deletion rights directly within the app, or contact us at the email below for assistance.
EU / UK residents (GDPR)
If you are located in the EU or UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below.
Clip is not intended for use by anyone under 18 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under that age.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect as soon as they are posted, and the "Last updated" date above will be revised accordingly.
